One space represents one idea of how people and resources come together on the Web, for purposeful action. |

We identify certain Web spaces based on what we think is a unifying thread - efforts to bring different kinds of people together, so they can trade information and utilize resources, so they can accomplish a range of goals. This represents a phenomenon with a wide range of possibilities.
For now, the purpose of this site is to: |

|
The sites we show represent either economic resources, or functions that enable people to come together with the intent to promote, in many different ways, purposeful actions. You might ask, "Why not include friendship network services, and sites promoting "right to life," or "right to choose?" Here's our distinction. Networking can be purposeful, but not necessarily. And working on a single issue is just that. Our initiative is to emphasize sites whose main purpose is presenting multiple ideas or actions, that individuals or groups can address. The usefulness of enabling multiple forms of one idea, or enabling many different ideas, is that it allows for a range of points of view and (creative) kinds of actions - different kinds of people sharing different kinds of initiatives. We believe there is special value in this: acting as a creative force, and safeguarding against a totalitarian or narrow viewpoint. |
