One organization representing a collective knowledge regarding conflict and reconciliation could come together in a continuous relationship with organizations representing groups still in conflict.

Two kinds of groups that could collaborate.

Glencree is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that is devoted to peace building and reconciliation in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Great Britain, and beyond.  From the context of the protracted conflict experienced in and between these islands, Glencree works towards understanding complex relationships, as well as cultivating new ones, between all people from all parts of society.  The programme work builds peace and fosters reconciliation by facilitating dialogues, creating peace education resources, organizing school programmes, and much more.

The Palestinian NGO Network is a civil and democratic body, which seeks to support, consolidate and strengthen the Palestinian civil society on the basis of the principles of democracy, social justice and sustainable development. It strives for the attainment of the legitimate national rights of the Palestinian people. It is a Palestinian NGO umbrella organization comprising 100 member organizations working in different developmental fields.

MEPEACE offers several peacemaking platforms. On the web platform, individuals express themselves and communicate with each other through photos, videos and text. Communication is enabled in chat rooms, and through comment walls and private messaging, and in more than 1,000 forum discussions. Upon joining us one receives a page online with a personal profile, blog, comment wall and private inbox. Personal pages automatically feature the individual’s discussions, photos, videos and songs. On the ground, our Peace Cafés enable Palestinians, Israelis and Internationals to meet in settings which encourage dialogue, friendships and inspiration. Sometimes the encounters are not easy. At the beginning of 2009, we brought Palestinians and Israelis together while a war raged in Gaza. Brave peacemakers overcame checkpoints, barriers and personal fear to share a more hopeful vision for peace. We also participate in international peace conferences and create our own, such as our “Making Things Possible” meeting in Amman, Jordan.

What makes this compelling?

One country, Ireland, has real world experience in a protracted conflict between two groups to which an outsider might have difficulty making a visual/audible distinction.

How to implement change.

Our opinion of these groups.

If you like them, we like them - we're supportive, not "endorsive." The mission of OneSpace is to promote collaboration, plain and simple.
